Minor drowns in agricultural well in Telangana’s Khammam
The incident occurred when Sheikh Yakub, a native of Station Ghanpur in Jangaon district, went fishing in a tank in Laxmipuram

Khammam: A minor drowned in an agricultural well at Laxmipuram in Chintakani mandal of the district on Friday.
A woman, Sheikh Reshma of Station Ghanpur in Jangaon district, had reportedly come to Proddaturu in the mandal with her three children a year ago. She makes a living by making brass items in a tent pitched at the local gram panchayat office.
Her elder son, Sheikh Yakub (15), who went fishing in a tank in the village, accidentally fell into a well and died. Local SI Madhu Babu registered a case and is investigating.
BRS party mandal president Pentyala Pullaiah handed over Rs 25,000 to Reshma for the boy’s last rites. After the postmortem, the body was taken to his native village, Station Ghanpur.
