Hyderabad: A minor fire broke out a temple in Santoshnagar due to a lamp on Friday night.
According to Narsing Rao, chairman, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple located at Santoshnagar colony, the devotees noticed a fire in a corner of the temple where oil lamps where kept for decoration purpose.
Some combustible material came in contact with the lamps and is suspected to have triggered the fire.
“A fire tender came and the fire was doused with minutes. Before the fire team arrived the local people belonging to all communities rushed to the spot and launched efforts to douse the fire,” said Narsing Rao.
The police also reached the spot and supervised the fire fighting efforts.
