Minor girl goes missing in Bhadrachalam; case registered
A minor girl working as a trainee nurse at the Bhadrachalam Government Area Hospital has been reported missing. She attended night duty on March 1 but did not return home. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation following a complaint by her mother

Kothagudem: A minor girl reportedly went missing under Bhadrachalam police station limits in the district.
The girl from Aswapuram works as a trainee nurse in the Bhadrachalam Government Area Hospital. She attended her duty on March 1 night and did not return home the next morning. The girl’s family members, worried over her disappearance, enquired with relatives and friends but could not find her whereabouts.
Based on the complaint of the girl’s mother Rajitha on Tuesday afternoon, town SI Shyam Prasad registered a case at the Bhadrachalam town police station and took up investigation.
Seniors attack juniors at tribal school in Mahabubabad
Mahabubabad: An incident of intermediate students beating up Class IX students at Tribal Welfare Residential School and Junior College at Maripeda town in the district came to light on Tuesday.
Four students were said to have suffered injuries in the attack by the seniors. After learning about the incident, the parents of the injured students staged a protest at the institute demanding action against the erring students as well as the staff.
It was said that two intermediate students who found the Class IX students coming from behind the hostel mess during late night hours on Sunday questioned them about what they were doing there in the night and beat them.
The protesting parents alleged that the teachers and the hostel warden had not paid attention to the incident. They lodged a complaint with the local police regarding the incident.
Man gets 20-year jail term for sexually assaulting minor
Hyderabad: A local court on Tuesday convicted and sentenced a man to 20 years jail term and imposed a fine of Rs 8500 for sexually assaulting a minor girl.
The man Shaik Naseer (35), a resident of Dundigal and a native of Vikarabad, on October 29, of 2021 kidnapped the girl and took her to Mumbai. He then confined the girl in a room for six months and repeatedly raped the girl.
A case was registered and the police finally traced the man on May 11 of 2022 and arrested him. After the trial, the court pronounced the judgment.
Excise officials bust liquor smuggling racket
Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise Department officials seized non-duty paid liquor being smuggled in a van designated to carry blood plasma, and arrested two persons at Narsapur road.
A total of 24 liquor bottles worth Rs 1.7 lakh were seized.
The accused Chintala Jaipal, was transporting the liquor bottles after procuring in Delhi and later transported it to Hyderabad where is sold at lower price compared to market price.
On a tip off, the State Task Force team caught Jaipal and seized the liquor bottles and the vehicle.
