Minor lovers commit suicide in Jangaon
Jangaon: Close on the heels of the suicide of young lovers, two minors committed suicide around midnight on Friday at Budagajangala Colony at Palakurthy mandal centre in the district.
Since the victims belong to the nomadic community, the deceased were living with their parents at Budagajangala Colony near Yerra Malliaiah kunta at Palakurthy mandal centre for some time now. According to the relatives of the deceased, the minors were found in an unconscious state by the villagers around 11.30 pm on Friday. Suspecting that they had consumed pesticide, the villagers tried to shift the boy, but he had already died, and the girl died on the way to Jangaon government area hospital.
On getting to know about the incident, Palakurthy police visited Jangaon area hospital and ensured autopsy to the bodies before handing over them to the parents. It is said that the love affair was not known to the parents of the duo. It is suspected that they had taken the extreme step of ending lives as they thought their love would not be accepted by the parents.
However, the boy’s father said that they would have accepted their love if they were serious about their relationship. “We were not aware of their relationship,” he added. The Palakurthy police have registered suspicious death case and taken up the investigation.
