Hyderabad: Posters declaring Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay’s son and POCSO accused Bandi Sai Bageerath as “missing” surfaced across several parts of Hyderabad on Wednesday. However, the State government deployed municipal staff to remove them on a war footing basis. Videos showing posters being removed shortly after they were pasted also went viral on social media platforms.
The posters were found pasted on Hyderabad Metro pillars, bus stops and major junctions in Serilingampally, Gachibowli and other areas. Citizens were requested to inform the nearest police station or dial ‘100’ if they spotted Bhageerath.
Simultaneously, a campaign highlighting the issue was carried out within the Hyderabad Metro network by a few social activists, who circulated appeals and sought information about his whereabouts from commuters.
The poster campaign gained significance amid the police claiming that Bhageerath was absconding and issued him a notice to appear at Pet Basheerabad police station by 2 pm on Wednesday. He approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail, claiming that he was not absconding and dismissing allegations in the POCSO case against him.
