Visakhapatnam: A 14-year-old girl in the city was found murdered within hours after she went missing. Her body was found near an apartment complex in the neighbourhood in Sanivada of Aganampudi area on Wednesday.

Police initially thought it was a suicide, but now suspect it to be murder, particularly after noticing wounds on the girl’s body and the deletion of the last call from her father’s mobile phone.

The girl, daughter of a watchman, was said to have moved closely with a boy in one of the flats of the apartment complex. Police took into custody six persons and were interrogating them separately.

Telugu Desam Party former MLAs Palla Srinivasa Rao and Vangalapudi Anita called on the girl’s family members and promised they would help provide justice to them.
