Nizamabad: A woman reported missing for over a week was found murdered in Munipally forest area by the police on Saturday.
The police took into custody Gangadhar, an acquaitance of the deceased woman Rajitha and during questioning he confessed to killing her for money and dumping her body in the forest area. The police brought Gangadhar to the murder scene to find a highly decomposed body of the woman.
Rajitha (33), a married woman of Kojan Kotturu village in Jagitial district was reported missing a week ago. She was last seen along with Gangadhar. Based on the susupicions expressed by villagers, he was taken into custory and interrogated.
According to Metpally CI Srinivas, Rajitha went to a bank to withdraw some money. Gangadhar who took her to the bank on a mobile took her to Munipally forest area of Nizamabad district where he snatched cash and gold ornaments from her and killed her the forest area. Kojan Kotturu villagers staged a protest demonstration on NH-63 at Munipally demanding action against the accused. The body has been sent for autopsy.
