Sangareddy: MLAs from Sangareddy district led by Finance Minister T Harish Rao met Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the State Assembly on Friday and thanked him for according administrative approval for Sangameshwara Lift Irrigation Project (SLIP) and Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Project (BLIP) in the district.
The State government had accorded administrative approval for Rs 4,427 crore for the two projects that together will provide irrigation water to 3.84 lakh acres in Sangareddy district.
Saying that the Sangareddy district was ignored by the past governments, the MLAs have thanked the Chief Minister for granting the amount to take up the works of the projects that would usher in prosperity in rural parts of Sangareddy.
The Chief Minister has suggested the Legislators get the projects completed as early as possible since they have already granted all the funds. He has asked them to utilise the experience of Finance Minister T Harish Rao to get the projects completed early. Rao suggested they work closely with the engineering officials, contractors, and others concerned to monitor the progress of the work.
