Mancherial: Meanwhile, MLC K Kavitha expressed shock over the incident which claimed four lives and expressed condolences to the kin of the bereaved families.

In a statement, Kavitha said that she was shocked by the mishap and assured that the government would extend all support to the kin of the victims.

In the meantime, Government Whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman termed the accident as an unfortunate incident and conveyed condolences to the family members of the miners. He stated that in spite of a slew of safety measures to prevent accidents in underground mines and opencast projects belonging to the State-owned coal giant, lives of four coal miners were lost to the collapse of the roof of the mine. SC Development Minister Koppula Eshwar expressed anguish over the incident.

Former MLC Kokkirala Premsagar Rao announced a financial aid of Rs 10,000 to the families of four victims. He alleged that negligence of the authorities of SCCL caused the mishap.
