MLRIT hosts IP Awareness Programme for startups and MSMEs
Hyderabad’s MLR Institute of Technology (MLRIT), in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC), organised a one-day IP Awareness Programme funded by the Ministry of MSME. The event aimed to sensitise students, faculty, startups and MSMEs to the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), patent filing, and government schemes supporting innovation.

Hyderabad: A one-day IP Awareness Programme, funded by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), was organised by the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) and Department of Aeronautical Engineering, MLR Institute of Technology (MLRIT), on Friday.
The programme was aimed at creating awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) among students, faculty members, startups and MSMEs. Sessions focused on the importance of IPRs, patent filing procedures, government schemes for MSMEs and startups, and the role of intellectual property in facilitating innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship.
Experts from the field shared practical insights and encouraged participants, particularly startups and MSMEs, to proactively protect and manage their intellectual assets to enhance commercial value and competitiveness.
MLRIT Founder Secretary and Malkajgiri MLA Shri Marri Rajashekhar Reddy highlighted the role of intellectual property rights in driving technological progress and supporting sustainable entrepreneurial growth. Principal Dr K Srininivas Rao, IPFC Head, Dr Vivekandh and other heads of departments participated in the programme.
