Mobile phone shop gutted in Hyderabad’s Jagadish Market
Officials suspect a short circuit led to the fire.
Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in a mobile phone and accessories shop at Jagadish Market in the Abid Road area here on Thursday night. No casualties were reported as the shop was closed at the time of the incident, police said.

Local residents who noticed the fire and thick smoke emerging from the closed mobile shop on the ground floor of a building, alerted the fire department and police immediately.
“It is a market place and the shop was full of gadgets, plastic, fibre and inflammable material. There was nobody present inside at the time of mishap,” said an official.
Due to the plastic and synthetic material in the shop, thick smoke engulfed the surrounding areas triggering panic among the local residents.
Two fire engines doused the fire. Officials said the cost of the property damaged was yet to be estimated.
The Abid Road police are investigating.
