Hyderabad: A mock drill simulating a building collapse at Secunderabad was conducted on Wednesday, in which Hyderabad police, Disaster Response Force, NDRF, SDRF, Fire Department, Revenue, TGSPDCL and HMWS&SB officials participated.
As part of the mock drill, an officer of the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) made a phone call to 112 (national helpline number), informing about the building collapse at Tukaramgate.
As soon as the official reported it, the 112 control room staff shared the information with the TGICCC, and all the emergency services were quickly alerted. Officials and teams from different emergency services reached the spot and simulated rescue operations.
“At the TGICCC control room monitored the entire drill, and later, a post-drill review session was held to evaluate the operation for any shortcomings. Such mock drills will be held periodically in the State to refine the Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs),” said TGICCC Director, V B Kamalasan Reddy.
