Model code violation case booked against Minister Laxman Kumar

The State Election Commission has registered a case against SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct after he toured Dharmapuri and Velgatur in a large convoy during the municipal poll campaign

Jagtial: The State Election Commission has registered a case against SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Though touring in large convoys is a violation of the model code, Laxman Kumar reportedly toured Dharmapuri town with several vehicles, where the municipal election is scheduled on Wednesday. After attending a programme in Dharmapuri town, the Minister proceeded to Velgatur in a convoy on Tuesday morning.

Some YouTubers recorded Laxman Kumar’s convoy, which was telecast on a vernacular news channel.

Taking suo motu cognisance of the footage, the State election authorities registered a model code violation case against the Minister.
