Hyderabad: The Model Schools Teachers Joint Action Committee (MS JAC) has put the State government on a 15-day notice to resolve long-pending issues, including merger of 194 Model Schools with School Education Department and paying salaries via 010 head account. The JAC announced a series of protests if their demands fail to materialise in a fortnight.
In a statement on Thursday, the MS-JAC steering committee representatives – B Yakamallu, T Jagadish and Kondaiah – said that despite teachers and employees playing a key role in providing quality education to students since the Model Schools’ inception, many of their legitimate service-related issues remained unresolved for years.
The JAC also demanded promotions, settlement of pending DA arrears and CPS matching grant, and implementation of terminal benefits for the families of deceased employees. It sought notional service for TGTs from June 2013, promotions for eligible TGTs, PGTs and principals as per the 317 guidelines, creation of junior lecturer posts, sanction of Hindi PGT posts and regular junior assistant posts.
Other demands include resolving qualification and service issues of TGT/PGT science teachers, regularisation or absorption of outsourcing employees, bringing all Model School employees under the EHS scheme, and fixing the monthly payment of hourly basis teachers at Rs 35,000.
The JAC warned that it would begin protests in a phased manner if the government does not respond within the deadline. In the first phase, teachers and employees decided to wear black badges and stage protests at all Model Schools. In the second phase, district-level protests would be held, and petitions would be submitted to the respective officials.
In the third and fourth phases, the employees decided to organise protests outside the offices of DEOs and district collectors, and School Education department head office, respectively. “The JAC will announce further state-wide action if the issues remain unresolved,” it added.
