Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali inaugurated the new building of the Chandrayangutta police station at Bandlaguda road on Saturday afternoon. The new building was constructed recently as the old building dating back to the Nizam’s era at Keshavagiri was in dilapidated condition and short of space too. The building at Bandlaguda has spacious barracks for policemen, interrogation room, store room, lock up and office rooms for Inspector rank officials.
The Home Minister said the State government had allocated a huge budget for modernisation of the department. “Due to the efforts of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the crime rate in the State has come down and people are feeling safer. Policing standards in Telangana are on par with international cities,” he said. Telangana DGP M Mahender Reddy, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and others were present.
