Modi congratulates new Bihar ministers after Cabinet expansion

Narendra Modi congratulated newly sworn ministers in Bihar’s expanded NDA cabinet, expressing confidence in their development agenda. Thirty-two leaders, including Nishant Kumar, took oath in a Patna ceremony

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Bihar’s newly appointed ministers who took oath on Thursday and said he was confident that their commitment to the all-round development will take the state to new heights of prosperity.

In a major expansion of the Cabinet of Bihar’s first BJP-led government, JD(U) president Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar and 31 others took oath as ministers in the presence of Prime Minister Modi and several Union ministers.


“Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all my colleagues who took oath as ministers in the Bihar’s NDA government! I am fully confident that your commitment to all-round development of the state will take our province to new heights of prosperity. Let us all together realise the resolve to build a strong Bihar and a developed India,” Modi said in a post on ‘X’ in Hindi.

In another post, reacting to overwhelming public response to his roadshow in Patna, the prime minister said he was deeply grateful “to all of you from the bottom of my heart for this warm welcome”.

“I am overwhelmed by the love and blessings of my family members from Bihar in Patna! I am deeply grateful to all of you from the bottom of my heart for this warm welcome. Your unprecedented enthusiasm clearly shows that our resolve for development and public service is receiving full support from the people,” he said. A total of 32 leaders, drawn from all five constituents of the NDA in the state, were administered the oath of office by the Governor, Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (retd), at a grand ceremony in Patna.
