Hyderabad: Indian cricketer Mohammad Siraj on Friday visited Rainbow Children’s Hospital as a goodwill gesture to motivate childhood cancer survivors and interacted with the children, delivered a pep talk and later distributed gifts.
Siraj acknowledged the courage of the children in fighting the life threatening ailment. “In a cricket match, dropping a catch can sometimes cost us the game. Similarly, in life, losing confidence and emotional balance can affect your fight against challenges like cancer. But just as we fight back in cricket, I encourage everyone to stay strong and not lose hope. Your courage is your greatest weapon in battling cancer. Be resilient, and keep believing in yourself,” he urged.
Dr. Sirisha Rani, senior pediatric hematologist and oncologist, BMT, Rainbow Children’s Hospital said, “Advancements in cancer treatment have increased the survival rates of children with cancer. Therefore, early diagnosis of cancer is crucial to saving the lives of children”.
Dr. Dinesh Kumar Chirla, Director Intensive Care Services, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Dr. Faisal B Nahdi, Pediatrician, and others were present.
