Mohammed Abdul Quadeer to coach Indian ice skating team at Asian Open
Mohammed Abdul Quadeer has been appointed as the coach for the Indian ice skating team in the Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy, to be held from August 20-23 in Dehradun
Hyderabad: Mohammed Abdul Quadeer has been selected as the coach for the Indian ice skating team participating in the Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy, which will be held from August 20-23 at the Himadri Ice Skating Track in Dehradun.
“This championship is a fantastic opportunity for our young skaters to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience,” Quadeer said.
“My desire is to see our children excel and bring home as many medals as possible for India, particularly from Telangana. The selection for the World Championships will be based on their performance, timings, and skills in this junior match,” he explained.
“I’m confident that with hard work and dedication, we can achieve great results. My aim is to see Telangana participate in large numbers and bring home numerous medals, putting our state on the national map,” Quadeer said.
The Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy 2025 will feature the following events:
500m: A sprint event
1000m: A test of endurance and strategy
1500m: A longer-distance race
Team relays will also be part of the competition.
The Ice Skating Association of Telangana President, D. Deepak Kumar, congratulated Quadeer on his assignment and expressed hopes that India would win many medals.
