Hyderabad: Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin’s exclusion from the Indian T20 squad is a topic of discussion of late. Having bundles of experience behind him the veteran cricketer, who is a regular in Test cricket, struggled to find a place in the shortest format of the game with Virat Kohli preferring Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav along with newcomers Washington Sundar.
However, Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach Mohammed Kaif has been an advocate of Ashwin’s inclusion in the Indian team for the T20s. To his record, Ashwin had done exceedingly well in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League. He had said Ashwin had big scalps in the league with the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, David Warner, Steve Smith, Jos Buttler and Quinton de Kock. He took to twitter saying, “Virat, Rohit, Pollard, Gayle, Warner, QDK, Karun, Buttler, Smith, Paddikal, Pooran. Read and re-read @ashwinravi99’s list of big scalps from IPL 13, mostly in power plays. Feel Ash can still be a valuable asset for India in T20Is.”
