Hyderabad: Veteran actor Mohan Babu, who filed a lunch motion petition in the High Court challenging the notice served on him by the police, was granted relief by the court, which has deferred the notice and said that he would not have to appear before the police till December 24.

Stating that the matter was a family dispute, the court has also asked the police to ensure peace, as part of which a team of Blue Colt personnel would monitor the situation at the actor’s residence at regular intervals. This was in the wake of Mohan Babu asking for a police picket to be set up at his residence apart from allowing him police security.

The court, which reiterated that the matter was a personal issue, also found fault with journalists and social media platforms for spreading false information and for intruding into a private issue. The court will take up the matter for hearing again on December 24.
