Hyderabad: Even as the capital city and several parts of the State are yet to recover from the unprecedented day and night lashing from the rain gods on Tuesday, more rains and thundershowers are expected across the State till Thursday.

According to the weather forecast from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the depression over Telangana has moved further west-northwestwards and now lies over North Interior Karnataka and the adjoining area of Maharashtra and Telangana about 80 km from northwest of Gulbarga.

“It is expected to move west-northwestwards and gradually weaken into a well-marked low pressure area during the next 12 hours. Under its influence, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected at a few places with heavy rain in some places across the State till Thursday,” the TSDPS forecast said.

The India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad’s weather warning for the State said thunderstorms accompanied by lightning were very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana while heavy rain was very likely to occur at isolated places in Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy and Vikarabad on Wednesday while light to moderate rain or thundershowers were very likely to occur at a few places on Thursday.

According to the TSDPS, during the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 252.4 mm was recorded at Pochampalle (Yadadri Bhongir). In the GHMC area, during the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 248.3 mm was recorded at Hayathnagar.
