MP Santosh Kumar asks people to help plant 1 crore saplings on CM KCR’s birthday
To mark the occasion, travellers reaching Hyderabad at Shamshabad airport will be given a medicinal plant so that they can plant them in their homes, Santosh Kumar said.
Hyderabad: All arrangements were in place for large scale participation in the Green India Challenge initiative and planting of 1 crore saplings in an hour on Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao’s birthday on February 17, said TRS Rajya Sabha MP, J Santosh Kumar.
Increasing green cover and encouraging afforestation is vital to transform Telangana into ‘Haritha Telangana’ and make it liveable and sustainable for generations to come. “I urge people to display the same kind of passion that they displayed during the State formation and take part in the initiative in large numbers,” he appealed.
To mark the occasion, travellers reaching Hyderabad at Shamshabad airport will be given a medicinal plant so that they can plant them in their homes, Santosh Kumar said.
The TRS working president, KT Rama Rao has already urged party workers to actively take part in the programme on Wednesday.
