Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar, who has been promoting Green India Challenge for the last few years, along with TRS MLA of Uppal Bethi Subhas Reddy planted saplings in the Uppal Bhagayath Layout on Tuesday as part of his birthday celebrations.    

The MLA and others appreciated the efforts of Santosh Kumar for initiating and taking forward Green India Challenge. The Rajya Sabha MP urged everyone to take forward this novel initiative.

Launched in 2018, the Green India Challenge has seen participation by many leading politicians, celebrities, bureaucrats, and eminent people from various walks of life.

It was inspired by the novel initiative ‘Haritha Haram programme’ of Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao to promote and make people aware about the significance of planting trees and its overall impact on the environment.
