Adilabad: Rajya Sabha member Joginipally Santosh Kumar visited the district’s model village Mukhra (K) in Echoda mandal on Sunday. He was accompanied by Boath MLA Rathod Bapu Rao and Khanapur legislator Ajmeera Rekha Naik.
Santosh Kumar planted saplings and was all praise for Sapranch G Meenakshi for making sustained efforts to transforming the habitation in many facets. He stated that he was satisfied by the plantation drives taken up by the head of the administration on his birthday and other occasion. He congratulated her for winning plaudits from Union government in effectively preventing Covid-19 and implantation of Centrally-sponsored schemes.
The Rajya Sabha member spent around an hour in the village. He, on behalf of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, purchased vermi-compost fertilizer made by the village by paying Rs 1,000. He told other villages to draw inspiration from Mukhra (K) and to implement various developmental programmes. He and Bapu Rao were felicitated by Meenakshi for visiting the village.
Meenakshi told Santosh Kumar that they had planted 2,000 saplings drawing inspiration from the latter’s Green India Challenge on Saturday. She stated that a total of 23,000 saplings were planted so far. She said that villagers were extending their cooperation in raising green cover of the habitation. She thanked him for taking out time and visiting the village.
