Hyderabad: Continuing its good run in attracting new companies to set up their operations here, Telanagana got Mobile Premier League (MPL), a gaming company, to choose Hyderabad for its 500-seater game development centre.
An MoU was signed on Tuesday on the sidelines of IndiaJoy, an animation, visual effects and gaming industry event in the presence of IT Minister KT Rama Rao. IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Mobile Premier League CEO Sai Srinivas signed the MoU.
Accordingly, the company will employ about 500 youth in the State.
MPL will also work with Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) to introduce special game development, animation and sport focused courses to enhance the availability of talent pool in the State.
The company, which claims to be India’s largest e-sport and mobile gaming paltform, gave mobile gaming a spin by offering rewards and cash for playing the games on its platform. Everyday thousands of players join MPL, which offers a variety of tournaments and one-to-one battles. Once the results are announced for a tournament, the winners can cash-out immediately with Paytm, UPI or bank transfer, the company website said. It has about 90 million users worldwide.
