Hyderabad: The Apex Council members of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), under the leadership of Ajinkya Naik, President, met the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, on Friday to express their gratitude for his continued support to Mumbai cricket.
During the meeting, the members discussed key pending matters aimed at strengthening the cricketing ecosystem within the MCA’s jurisdiction. These included the renewal of the lease of Wankhede Stadium and the renewal of leases for the plots at Azad Maidan, Cross Maidan and Oval Maidan.
“The Chief Minister responded positively to the issues raised,” Ajinkya Naik said in a statement.
“The Chief Minister also shared his vision to build a world-class international cricket stadium with a capacity of one lakh in the MMR region. The Apex Council members wholeheartedly welcomed this ambitious vision and assured the Chief Minister of MCA’s full cooperation and commitment to help make this dream a reality,” the MCA president said.
“The MCA expressed gratitude for the Government’s support and expressed confidence that all key matters will move forward in the best interest of cricket in Mumbai and the MMR region,” he added.
