Municipal engineer arrested while accepting bribe of Rs 2 lakh in Peddapalli
An Assistant Engineer from Peddapalli municipality was arrested by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a contractor.

Peddapalli: An Assistant Engineer from the municipality was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a contractor in Peddapalli town on Tuesday.
The ACB officials said that the engineer, Satheesh, was harassing the contractor seeking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh to clear the bill of a work taken up by the municipality. The contractor approached the ACB which in turn laid the trap and caught him red-handed.
On July 9, An Assistant Engineer of Panchayat Raj department Paidi Sathish was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in Gangadhara mandal centre. He demanded the bribe to process official records of works executed under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme MGNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme).
