Khammam: The TRS campaign for Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections has been receiving immense response from the public, who are turning up in large numbers for the party election rallies.
Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, who campaigned in 2, 3, 8, 9, 12, 13, 19, 21, 22 and 24 municipal divisions of the KMC here on Sunday, thanked the voters for their voluntary support to the party and its candidates.
The voluntary response of the voters has proved the TRS victory in Khammam Municipal Corporation elections beyond any doubt, the minister said while urging the voters to reject the opposition parties that were trying to cause hindrance to the development of Khammam city.
The leaders of Congress and BJP, who do not have neither a vision nor an agenda for the city development, were making false allegations against the TRS. It was only after the TRS government came to power Khammam witnessed development and it was visible clearly.
The State government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has allotted around Rs 1800 crore for the city development so far, which no other government in the past was able to do. As a result Khammam achieved rapid growth in the past six years, Ajay Kumar noted.
But the opposition parties which were not able to digest the development which the city witnessed and the public support to the TRS party were engaged in mudslinging against the government and were resorting to personal attacks, he complained.
The minister appealed to the voters to give a fitting reply to the opposition parties’ leaders by ensuring a sweeping victory for the TRS in the municipal elections. The elections would set a direction for the future development of the city, Ajay Kumar averred.
The TRS government was giving priority to progress of BC communities and thus fielded a BC candidate, Narra Yellaiah in 2nd division, which was reserved to OC (general) category, he explained while urging the voters to come out of their homes on April 30 to cast vote for TRS.
Meanwhile, the TRS NRI UK wing secretary, Gottemukkala Sathish Reddy, who campaigned in several divisions, expressed pleasure at the people’s response saying the voters were impressed with the city’s development under the leadership of Ajay Kumar.
The district party office in-charge, Gundala Krishna said the women voters were offering ‘harati’ to the minister and the party candidates during the election rallies and it indicates the voters mood.
