Munipally police nab man over Rs 1.13 crore copper wire theft

Munipally police nabbed a man in connection with the theft of copper wire worth Rs 1.13 crore from a goods vehicle near Budhera flyover. Police recovered 123 bags of copper wire using GPS tracking, while the prime accused and others remained absconding.

Sangareddy: Munipally police nabbed a man who allegedly stole copper wire worth Rs 1.13 crore while it was being transported to Mumbai from Bholakpur in Hyderabad. One Mohd. Fayazuddin was carrying the copper wire in a goods vehicle when a gang led by Shoail and Shaik Sabeer Sharif threatened him with knives and decamped with the vehicle. The incident happened when the driver stopped the vehicle to have dinner at a roadside hotel close to Budhera flyover under Munipally police station limits. However, the police traced the vehicle using GPS tracking. They found 123 bags out of the 171 stolen from the lorry. During the inquiry, the police recovered the copper and nabbed Sarif, while the prime accused Sohail and eight others who assisted him were absconding. The police also seized the transport vehicle and two other vehicles from them.
