New Delhi: Delhi Police solved a blind murder case within hours of the incident and apprehended three juveniles allegedly involved in the killing of a 22-year-old man in Tilak Nagar. Police said on Wednesday the crime was cracked through prompt investigation, CCTV footage analysis, and local intelligence inputs.

According to police, a PCR call was received at Tilak Nagar Police Station on June 22, through Daily Diary Number 10A, regarding a stabbing incident. The caller reported that her brother had been stabbed on the thigh and back and had been taken to DDU Hospital, where his condition was critical due to excessive bleeding. The call was assigned to Sub Inspector Mohit Kumar for necessary action.

A police team reached the spot and found bloodstains at the scene of the crime. The injured man was identified as Paras, who had sustained three stab wounds, including two on his left thigh and one on his back. He was shifted to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Following the incident, FIR No. 244/2026 under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Tilak Nagar Police Station. A dedicated team led by Inspector Binnet Kumar Pandey and SI Mohit Kumar was constituted under the supervision of senior officers of the district to investigate the case.

During the investigation, police recorded the statement of the deceased’s sister, a resident of Tilak Nagar. She stated that she had found her brother lying injured and unconscious near their residence and had no information about the assailants.

The investigating team immediately examined CCTV footage from the area and developed local intelligence. Through meticulous analysis and sustained field inquiries, three juveniles, identified as ‘V’, ‘R’, and ‘P’, were traced and apprehended from a local park near B-Block, Chowkhandi, Tilak Nagar.

During interrogation, the juveniles disclosed that around 40 to 45 days ago, the deceased had allegedly taken Rs 150 from one of them and refused to return the money. On the intervening night of June 21 and 22, they confronted Paras over the dispute. Following an altercation, Paras fled from the spot.

However, at around 12:15 a.m., the juveniles located him again, caught hold of him, and assaulted him. During the attack, juvenile ‘V’ allegedly stabbed Paras multiple times with a knife, causing fatal injuries.

All three juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and subsequently sent to protective custody. Further investigation is underway.
