Hyderabad: The State government on Saturday accorded administrative sanction of Rs 545 crore for construction of 15 bridges along Musi and Esa rivers. In addition to decking up the place, these bridges will improve connectivity near the water bodies.
Though there are bridges along the Musi, due to the city’s massive growth, the existing bridges are unable to take the traffic load. Following this, the State government felt the need to have more bridges across the Musi to ensure better connectivity and thus administrative sanction was accorded.
Keeping in view the growing population, road network and density of traffic, a detailed traffic study was done to assess the locations where additional bridges could be constructed. An architectural design competition for façade development, elevation and gateways of the bridges was also done earlier and proposals were invited from prospective participants.
