Music, dance, merriment marks Children’s Day celebrations

Delhi Public School, Nacharam celebrated Children’s Day with great festive fervor, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The school organized fun-filled activities throughout the week on the virtual platform Cisco WebEx. The special assembly was an extravaganza filled with music, dance and merriment.
The celebrations included ‘My Stamp’ Flintobox activity. Students made colourful cards based on the theme of Children’s Day. The stamps that they made displayed excellent creativity and intelligence. Using paints, coloured pencils, glitter, and the tools available at hand, students created beautiful stamps.
This was later followed by the ‘Costume Party’ and ‘Movie Time’.Children dressed up as their favourite characters from different fantasy and fictional worlds and settled in to watch a movie. Young dressed up wizards straight out of Harry Potter’s wizard world.
The celebrations were made more remarkable by a special assembly where students showcased their talent which included dances, songs one-act plays etc. To highlight the importance of the day, informative speeches were delivered. It was filled with numerous cultural events and activities. Vice-Principal Gowri Venkatesh coordinated the efforts of teachers and students to ensure the event was successful.
