Sangareddy: Members of the Muslim community in Sangareddy offered Salat al-Istisqa (Special prayers for rain), seeking Allah’s mercy and rainfall during a period of drought and climatic hardship, as the district recorded deficient rainfall during the southwest monsoon, particularly in July.
As crops have started withering and groundwater is depleting, the community gathered near Mahabub Sagar and offered special prayers on Sunday.
The prayers were organised following a call by religious elder Hafiz Qari Abul Razzaq in the town. Several religious elders and a large number of people also participated in the special prayers.
