Hyderabad: NABARD Grameen Bharat Mahotsav – Telangana 2026, held from October 7 to 14, was aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods, preserving traditional craftsmanship, and creating sustainable market opportunities for rural producers, artisans, weavers and entrepreneurs.
The Mahotsav recorded approximately 19,000 visitors over eight days and generated sales exceeding Rs 2 crore, besides facilitating valuable buyer-seller interactions and bulk business enquiries expected to create significant post-event market opportunities for participating enterprises.
Inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, the event brought together artisans, weavers, startups and producer groups from across the country on a common platform for market access, knowledge sharing and business networking.
Originally launched in 2014 as Deccan Haat and rechristened as Grameen Bharat Mahotsav in 2025, the event has emerged as one of NABARD’s flagship rural marketing initiatives. The eight-day exhibition featured 60 stalls representing 20 States, with participation from 120 artisans and entrepreneurs, including handloom enterprises, handicraft units, food-processing enterprises and NABARD-supported startups.
A key highlight of the Mahotsav was the exclusive GI Pavilion, exhibiting 36 Geographical Indication (GI) products from across India, including seven GI products from Telangana.
