NACO to hold Suraksha Sankalp Karyashala in Hyderabad to strengthen HIV response
NACO, under Mission AIDS Suraksha, is intensifying engagement with States to strengthen district-level HIV response. Hyderabad will host the Suraksha Sankalp Karyashala on March 25, with Telangana’s 19 priority districts participating to discuss progress, challenges, and targeted strategies.

Hyderabad: To accelerate district-level action in the national HIV response, the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is intensifying its engagement with States.
A workshop called ‘Suraksha Sankalp Karyashalas’, chaired by the Additional Secretary & Director General, NACO, Dr Rakesh Gupta, would be held in Hyderabad on March 25.
This initiative is being undertaken under the larger framework of Mission AIDS Suraksha, through which National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) is engaging with States to strengthen programme implementation in districts contributing significantly to the HIV burden.
The Karyashala will bring together key stakeholders from the State and district-level programme functionaries, including Dr S Sangeetha Satyanarayana, Project Director, Telangana State AIDS Control Society, District Collectors, Additional District Collectors, District Medical & Health Officer and District AIDS Control Officers.
Telangana, whose prevalence is 0.41 and the number of people living with HIV/AIDS burden is 1,56,961, has been identified as a priority State under this focused approach, with a total of 19 priority districts identified for intensified programme action. Representatives from these districts will present progress, discuss challenges and develop targeted strategies for strengthening service delivery.
