NAFSCOB chief Ravinder Rao sends legal notice to Revanth Reddy over Assembly remarks

NAFSCOB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao has issued a legal notice to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, seeking withdrawal of allegations made against him in the Assembly on September 16 and a public apology within seven days.

Hyderabad: NAFSCOB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao has issued a legal notice to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, demanding unconditional withdrawal of allegations made against him in the Telangana Assembly on September 16 and a public apology within seven days. He also asked Revanth Reddy to refrain from making further allegations of corruption, illegality or wrongdoing against him without factual evidence.

The notice, issued on behalf of Ravinder Rao, termed Revanth Reddy’s allegation that he had acquired a large extent of land in Sircilla during the previous BRS government’s tenure as false, baseless and lacking factual basis.

Ravinder Rao said the remarks damaged his personal and professional reputation built over decades in the cooperative sector. He has held key positions in various cooperative institutions, including a primary agricultural cooperative society (PACS), Karimnagar DCCB, Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank (TSCAB) and NAFSCOB, the notice said.

It stated that a person holding the Chief Minister’s office had a responsibility to fully verify facts before making allegations against an individual on the floor of the Assembly.

The notice also pointed out that the remarks were widely circulated through television, print, digital and social media, causing serious damage to Ravinder Rao’s reputation.
