Hyderabad: Actor Naga Shaurya lost about 16 kilos of weight for the character he is playing in ‘Varudu Kavalenu’.

The trailer was formally unveiled by Rana Daggubati here in the city.

Going by the looks of the trailer, it looks to be a fun and emotional take on marriage. Ritu Varma plays the headstrong woman who hates the concept of ‘Pelli Choopulu’. Shaurya likes her unique character and tries to impress her at every given opportunity.

Although, it seemed a predictable love story for a hero like Shaurya, how the plot goes along with elements of comedy and romance should be only explored after its release.

Actors Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore and Nadhiya, who are seen in key roles, are likely to offer a fun ride to audiences. Produced by Naga Vamsi on the banner Sithara Entertainments, the movie is helmed by Lakshmi Sowjanya. The movie is arriving in the theatres on October 29.

Speaking during the trailer launch event, Shaurya said that he lost 16 kgs to suit the character. Later, he admitted that Naga Vamsi had spent good money on the credits of the story but not on the basis of the hero’s popularity.

Rana Daggubati who was the chief guest, heaped praises on Naga Shaurya for the list of movies that he had done so far. He said Shaurya always appeared to him as ‘Ramudu Manchi Baludu’-kind-of guy and this movie’s title ‘Varudu Kavalenu’ is very apt to Shaurya, and wished the entire team on the occasion.

Shaurya, who is playing the character Pardhu in the upcoming movie ‘Lakshya’ has him in a bulky muscular posture. The actor underwent an unbelievable physical transformation as an archer in the movie that is based on ancient sport archery.
