Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy during the Nagarjuna Sagar bypoll campaigning at Kamareddygudem village of Thripuraram mandal.
Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday said only TRS had the right to seek votes from the people for the by-election to Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly Constituency.
Participating in the election campaign for TRS candidate Nomula Bhagath at Kamareddygudem village of Thripuraram mandal in the constituency, Reddy said opposition candidates were fearing to venture out as they were expecting the people to question them on the contribution of their party leaders for the development of Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency. Congress candidate K Jana Reddy should tell people what he did to solve the issues of the constituency before asking for votes in the by-election, he said.
“The people of the constituency elected Jana Reddy to the Assembly seven times, but he failed to even provide irrigation facility to the tail-end areas of Left Canal of Nagarjuna Sagar Project. The people rejected Jana Reddy in the 2018 polls and elected TRS candidate (late) Nomula Narsimhaiah for development of their area,” he pointed out.
The Congress would face the same fate in the by-elections to Nagarjunasagar Assembly Constituency, which were necessitated with the death of Narsimhaiah, Reddy added.
He said that the people of the constituency witnessed real development after the formation of Telangana State and presented victory to the TRS candidate in the 2018 elections. He reminded that the TRS government had succeeded in providing irrigation facility to tail-end areas of the Left Canal of Nagarjuna Sagar Project in the year 2017.
“It was due to the efforts of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao that every acre of land under ayacut of the Left Canal was getting irrigation facility for two crops due to the initiative taken up by the TRS government,” he said.
Nomula Bhagath, Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, MLC Srinivas Reddy, Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah and others participated in the elections campaign.
