Nagarjuna Sagar gates lifted as inflows hit 2.58 lakh cusecs
The Nagarjuna Sagar Project witnessed a sharp rise in inflows on Sunday, prompting authorities to lift all 26 gates and release 2.58 lakh cusecs of floodwater downstream. The reservoir’s water level reached 587 feet, just three feet below its full capacity.
Hyderabad: The Nagarjuna Sagar Project is experiencing a big surge in inflows. All the 26 gates of the project have been lifted, releasing over 2.58 lakh cusecs of floodwater downstream on Sunday. The inflows also stand at the same volume.
The project’s current water level stands at 587 feet, as against the Full Reservoir Level of 590 feet. The current storage level of the project touched 305.74 tmcs, some seven TMCs short of the gross storage capacity of 312.04 tmcs.
