Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said his government was working towards transforming Araku into a premier global coffee destination.
Marking International Coffee Day, the Chief Minister said building the Araku Coffee brand would empower local growers and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s presence in the global coffee market.
“We are actively investing in building Araku into a premier global coffee destination – empowering our local growers and ensuring Andhra Pradesh takes its rightful place on the world coffee map,” Naidu said in a post on X.
Noting that coffee was an integral part of the daily routine for millions of people worldwide, Naidu said his day did not truly begin without that first perfect sip of coffee.
“For me, it starts with Araku – a taste of Andhra Pradesh’s rich heritage,” he said.
“This International Coffee Day, we celebrate the incredible journey of Araku Coffee from the vibrant hills of our state to coffee cups across the globe,” the CM added.
Araku Valley Arabica Coffee is grown in the hilly regions of the Alluri Sitarama Raju district, including the Araku and Paderu areas. It is a GI-tagged product under the One District One Product initiative.
