Nalgonda: The district Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil on Thursday asked the officials to work in coordination for execution of the works identified to take up in the government schools under Mana Vooru- Mana Badi programme. Reviewing the estimations prepared by the officials for Mana Vooru-Mana Badi programme at a meeting here, the district Collector said that there was a possibility to develop 12 types of facilities in the government schools under the programme. Kitchen sheds, toilets with running water and compound walls works should be taken up under Mahathma Gandhi- National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (MG-NREGP) while remaining works would be taken up with the funds extended by the state government. The class rooms, which were dilapidated condition, should be dismantled after getting the approval the School Management Committees to take up construction of new class rooms in place of them, he added.
Stating that estimations for some schools are yet to be received by them, he instructed the officials including MPDOs to visit these schools and prepare estimations for the works required for them. He cautioned that the officials should not prepare estimations without visiting the schools. If any high tension electricity wires were above the school building, shifting of the lines should also included in the estimations of Mana Vooru-Mana Badi programme. Every school should also have a dining hall, he added. He also instructed the District Education Officer (DEO) to submit a report on the government schools, which were running in rented buildings. He assured to allocate government land to such schools for construction of own buildings.
Additional District Collector (Local Authorities) Rahul Sharma, District Education Officer Bixapathi and others were also attended the meeting.
