Nalgonda: District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil celebrated Raksha Bandhan with orphans and abandoned children in Sishu Gruha here on Sunday.
The children staying in Sishu Gruha tied rakhi to the District Collector, and as a gift, Patil presented new clothes to 35 children taking shelter in Sishu Gruha and Bala Sadan. He also interacted with the children for more than half an hour and inquired about their goals and education. He assured them of all help for their education. He advised them to focus on education which would help them in achieving their goals.
Child Welfare Committee Chairman Chintha Krishna, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) K Ganesh and officials of Integrated Child Protection Unit (ICPU) were also present.
