Nalgonda: Devotees throng temples on Karthika pournami

Nalgonda: A large number of devotees on Tuesday participated in special pooja programmes held at the temples across the district on the occasion of Karthika pournami. Women thronged the temples since the early hours of the day and lit the earthen lamps (Karthika Deepams) on the premises of the temple, which were filled with a spiritual and festive atmosphere.
The people, thousands in number, arrived at Wadapally in Nalgonda district, which is the confluence of rivers –Krishna and Musi for a holy dip and participated in pooja programmes held in Sri Ageshtheshwara Swamy temple.
The ancient temples Chaya Someshwaralayam and Pachala Someshwaralayam at Panagal also witnessed a huge rush of devotees. Women released lamps in the temple’s pond on the occasion of Karthikapournami.
Special pooja programmes were performed in Erakeswara temple at Pillalamarri in Suryapet district on an auspicious day. In Yadadri-Bhongir district, Yadadri Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple also witnessed huge rush of devotees on the day.
