Nalgonda: Kula Vivakshata Porata Samithi (KVPS) on Monday appreciated the State government for allocating 24 per cent of the budget for SC Special Development Fund. Responding to the budget, KVPS district secretary Paladugula Nagarjuna said that out of Rs 2.56 lakh crore of total budget, over Rs 33,000 crore have been allocated for SC welfare. He also expressed happiness over hike of funds for SCs’ welfare. He urged the government to Dalit Bandhi fund allocation to Rs 30,000 crore and sought increase in mess charges for students of welfare hostels.
BC Welfare Association district president Duduku Lakshminarayana said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has proved his commitment to BC welfare by doubling funds. He pointed out that Rs 5,698 crore have been allocated for BC welfare. Financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh for construction of houses would also benefit more number of BCs, he added.

Most Backward Classes (MBC) Association state co-convenor Konduru Satyanarayana reminded that the state government has released Rs 500 crore for each BC and MBC corporations just four days back. It has also allocated Rs 800 crore in the budget for the welfare of MBCs. He pointed out that just Rs 2,000 crore have allocated in the budget during united Andhra Pradesh for welfare of BCs. The livelihood of people of Backward Classes was improved due to initiatives of the state government.
