Nalgonda man gets 22 years jail for raping minor girl

Nalgonda: The Nalgonda POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Court has convicted and sentenced a man to 22 years of imprisonment on charges of raping a minor girl in Dhonipamul village of Nalgonda district.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 35,000 on the convict and ordered payment of Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the victim to support her rehabilitation and recovery.
In addition, the accused has been sentenced to an extra two years of imprisonment under other relevant sections of the law, in view of the severity of the crime.
The case, registered in 2018, was investigated by the Chandur Police, leading to the conviction.
