Nalgonda: Minister Jagadish Reddy describes ‘Rythu Vedikas’ as modern temples
Jagadish Reddy said that different types of soils in the State facilitate farmers to take up cultivation of crops that have demand in foreign countries also

Nalgonda: Describing Rythu Vedikas as modern temples, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Friday urged farmers to utilize them as a platform to share knowledge on new and profitable cultivation methods and unite to get the best price for their produce.
Speaking after inaugurating a Rythu Vedika at Khaji Ramaram in Nalgonda mandal, Jagdish Reddy said that different types of soils in the State facilitate farmers to take up cultivation of crops that have demand in foreign countries also. Hence, the farmers should switch over to cultivation of alternative crops. The farmers should utilize Rythu Vedikas for the purpose of sharing information, from selection of seeds to sale of produce, he added.
Reminding that the people of Nalgonda struggled to get even drinking water before 2014, he said that Nalgonda district stood in top in the state in paddy production due to improved irrigation facility, investment support under Rythu Bandhu scheme and 24 hours free electricity to agricultural pump sets. The paddy production in Telangana state was equal to the quantity of paddy production in erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, he maintained.
Later, he also inaugurated Rythu Vedikas at Anishetti Dupallapally, Thipparthy, Pajjuru and Mamidala villages in Nalgonda Assembly Constituency.
District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil, Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy and District Central Cooperative Bank Chairman Gongidi Mahender Reddy were also attended the programmes.
