Nalgonda: The police continue to be clueless even after 48 hours of the incident of a severed head found at Goddess Kali’s idol in Mettu Mahankali temple of Gollapalli village in Chinthapally mandal, Nalgonda district.
Though eight police teams have taken up search in Nalgonda and Suryapet district, the torso of the victim, Ramavbath Jahender, has not been found so far.
According to sources, police believe that it could be a case of human sacrifice by unidentified persons either for treasure hunting or for gaining superpowers. The police suspect that the incident took place between 11.30 pm and 12 am of Sunday. It has become difficult for the police to get any clues as no one was present at the temple at the time of the incident.
A police team has also taken up inquiry at his native place Unyapahad Thanda in Suryapet district.
The temple priest saw the served head at Kali’s idol on Monday morning and alerted the police. Superintendent of Police Rema Rajeshwari visited the spot and enquired the officials about the incident.
