Nalgonda: To put idle lands to good use to generate additional revenue, officials of Nalgonda region of TSRTC have sent a proposal to the Managing Director for setting up eight fuel outlets and also for leasing of lands for setting up function halls and commercial complexes in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhongir district.
TSRTC has seven bus depots that cover a total of 84 acres in the region. As more open land was available at the main centres, the officials came up with a plan to generate revenue by putting such lands to good use.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Nalgonda Region Manager K Rajendra Prasad said their idea was also to help in protecting valuable lands of the TSRTC from encroachments. Eight places at Nidmanoor, Gundala, Chityal, Munugode and Choutuppal have been identified for setting up petrol bunks. The Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL and BPCL have come forward to set up fuel outlets in these places. The officials of the companies have already inspected the sites. Based on the feasibility report, the TSRTC would sign Memorandum of Understanding with the companies on setting up fuel outlets. TSRTC would manage these petrol bunks. In addition to the lease amount, TSRTC would get commission of Rs 3 per litre of petrol as a dealer, Prasad said.
He said the proposals to lease out RTC lands at Nidmanoor, Choutuppal, Chandur, Huzurnagar and Kodad in the region have also been sent to higher authorities, he said, adding that income of Rs one lakh per day was generated through the cargo service in the region. “In addition to this, we are getting Rs 36 lakh per month in the form of rentals of stalls at bus stands,” he added.
