Nalgonda: In a tragic incident, Praveen Kumar, 30, a junior assistant at the Miryalaguda Tahasildar office, was found dead in a canal near Vemulapalli village in Nalgonda district. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide and have sent the body for postmortem.

Praveen, who joined the service in December, had been under stress after he narrowly missed the selection as an Assistant Engineer in a recent Genco recruitment drive. Dissatisfied with his job, he had been expressing his distress to his parents, who reside in Bejjikal village, Tripuraram mandal.

When Praveen did not respond to their calls, his worried parents lodged a complaint with the Miryalaguda One Town Police. Following the mobile signal, the police eventually found his body in the canal.

Further investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
