Nalgonda: Taking strong exception to the statement made by TYSRCP leader Sharmila during her praja prasthana yatra in Nalgonda district, Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy on Saturday said former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was the first leader, who opposed formation of Telangana state.

Speaking at a media conference, Narender Reddy said that Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, who was against Telangana statehood, had done nothing for development of Telangana during his rule. There was no truth in the claim of Y S Sharmila that Telangana witnessed development in Rajanna Rajyam. He said Sharmila had no links with Telangana and allowing her to tour in Telangana was a big matter. He urged Sharmila to control her tongue while talking about the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

He said that the Chief Minister has not released the jobs recruitment notification until finalization of zonal system to provide 95 per cent quota to local peope. It has caused some delay in releasing jobs recruitment notifications. The statements of Sharmila have indicated the lack of her knowledge about these facts. He cautioned that people of Telangana would not tolerate, if Sharmila failed to stop criticizing the TRS government and misinterpreting the facts.
